About Meta 3D Gen AI System

Function: Generates high-quality 3D assets with high-resolution textures and material maps in less than a minute.

Components: Utilizes two AI-powered sub-systems named Meta 3D AssetGen and Meta 3D TextureGen.

Capabilities:

Text Prompt Input: Users can input text prompts to generate AI-created 3D content, including characters, props, and scenes.

Mesh Texture Application: Users can also provide pre-existing 3D meshes and request the system to add textures.

How It Works:

  • Physically-Based Rendering (PBR): Utilizes PBR techniques to create 3D content from scratch.
  • User Input: Takes user instructions for creating a 3D structure and its design elements, including texture.

Steps in the Process:

Step 1: Meta 3D AssetGenĀ Initial 3D Asset Creation: Generates an initial 3D asset based on the user prompt.

  • Output: Produces a 3D mesh with texture and PBR material maps.
  • Time: Approximately 30 seconds for inference.

Step 2: Meta 3D TextureGen

  • Enhanced Texture and PBR Maps: Generates higher-quality texture and PBR maps for the 3D asset from Step 1.
  • Individual Use: Can be used as a standalone text-to-texture generator.
  • Time: Approximately 20 seconds for this step.

Additional Features:

Independent Texture Generation: If a user provides a pre-generated 3D mesh with a text prompt detailing the desired texture,
the system can skip to Step 2 automatically.
