Overview:
Exercise AL NAJAH is a biennial joint military exercise that alternates between
India and Oman. The aim is to enhance the operational cooperation between
the armies of the two countries, especially in counter-terrorism operations.
Last Edition:
The last edition of the exercise took place in Mahajan, Rajasthan, India, in 2022.
Indian Army Contingent:
In the current edition, the Indian Army is sending a contingent of 60 personnel
from the Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
Objectives:
The primary objective of the exercise is to strengthen joint military capabilities and foster interoperability between the two armies in counter-terrorism operations, with a specific focus on Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter (related to peacekeeping and peace enforcement). The exercise will focus on conducting operations in desert environments.
Key Tactical Drills:
- During the exercise, the forces will rehearse several tactical drills, including:

- Cordon and Search Operations
- Fighting in Built-Up Areas
- Mobile Vehicle Check Posts (MVCP)
